EUROPEAN UNION LABOUR

Hello bloggers!

In today's post I am showing you an infographic related to the EU labour. I decided to create two bar charts: one explaining the employment rate in 10 countries and the other where the viewers can see the difference between the total population, the employment and the unemployment. Also I've drawn five pie charts.

I decided to use blueish colors but, in order to "break the uniformity",  I used red wine colors in one chart.
I put some figures because the chart is representing the quantity of humans.

Hope you like it,

Until next time!!

PUBLISHER TRAINING EXERCICE

Hello bloggers!

In this practice we had to create a 4-column tab-sized document for a digital newspaper that contains three stories in order to "recreate" an original journalistic publication.

With text that has been provided to us, we had to structure it and add some pictures. The idea was to make it as journalistic as possible, to look like a real publication.

Here I leave you my work and hope you like it.

Until next time!!

SOLAR SYSTEM

Hi to you all!!  Today I show you a chart we did in class.

From an interview related to the solar system, we had to create an infographic. I decided to recreate the planets and the sun. Now it's finished, and with some time passed, I think it is absolutely not a good infographic. First of all, the text is too "embedded" and is hard to read. It becomes very heavy to understand what the text says, and for the view, it is not related to the image.

I expect you to leave your comments, and see if you think the same as me.

Until the next time!!

OTHER MATE'S CV

Hello bloggers!! Today I show you some CV's that my classmates did along the course.  I am going to give my point of view about each one.

The first one is from Helena Casasempere. I think it's more decorative than functional because there's a lot of things that could be avoid. It's more dens than light, and multidimensional. I found it quite original because of the types of graphics she decided to put. It is novlety because she don't repeat any information. An to finish, it is more abstract than figurative.

This one is from my classmate Enric Trias. I think its half abstract half figurative because we can identify some people and a music note. It's quite functional and light. I found it unidimensional and quite familiar because of the structure of it. It is novel because the information is not repeated.

ART HEISTS

Hello everybody!! Today I bring you an infographic related to an art thief in Boston.

With the information I had, I decided to recreate a map and explain the path of the thieves step by step. To complement the map, I decided to create a chronological sequence of events to explain what the thieves were doing at each step. I thought it would be good to simulate a human figure with the image of the stolen works, to give the reader more information.

With another source of data (other international robberies) I created another infographic. A world map where I have located the robberies geographically.

Until next time!!

In this activity we learnt about how to use the "pathfinder" in order to create exact figures.
It was quite simple and easy.

See you next time!!

AIRCRAFT CRASHES

In the following project, "Aircraft crashes", the teacher gave us an excel with the important data we should use. We had complete freedom to choose the data that we considered the most important in order to crate our own infographic starting with our own idea, but we must necessarily enter data from 1999 to 2009.

I decided to take a world map and categorize the number of impacts by color depending on each country. The categories range from 1 to 5 impacts, 6 to 10 impacts, 11 to 20 impacts an the last one is more than 20 impacts. To make it more interesting, I crated another chart with only the Top 5 countries with more crashes: USA, Canada, Brazil, Indonesia and Russia.

I think it's a very simple infographic very easy to understand. Hope you like it!

THE GLOBAL TOBACCO TRADE

Hi everybody! Today I'm going to comment an infographic about the GLOBAL TOBACCO TRADE".

This infographic I see it is very decorative because there is a background and also the drawings are very defined. I think it is very decorative in that sense. I think it's very dens because we can't find almost any space without information. It is multidimensional but quite original. Also I found this graphic very novel.

CURRICULUM VITAE

Hi, I am Patricia and I start this blog in order to share the infographics I created during the course. I start by showing one of the most important graphics that I've made along the course. It's not the first I've made but the most elaborate.

The project consisted in creating our own CV. The teacher marked us some guidelines that we should follow in order to get the best mark. the requirements were the following: The CV must have sections like education and training, work experience, personal skills and competences, and extra point like driving license. It should contain the desired employment and occupation field, the number of education and training points, the number of jobs in experience and personal skills.

As we were working for a graphic design subject, the design of our CV had to be very elaborated and we must follow some guidelines. The design should be creative, it should be well structured, a certain hierarchy and the colors should change properly according to their role in the document. To sum up, the infographic must comply 7 specific elements: it must be informative, efficient, elements, hierarchy, unity, novel and must be aesthetically pleasant.

Here I leave you the final work. Hope you like it!
